How wonderful to find myself learning as I stir paint!  The couple who commissioned this ketubah knew from the outset that their love of Art Nouveau would help shape the design, and this process moved through many iterations to arrive at what you see here.  What looks like a pixillated pair of designs towards the top corners are representations of the Fibonacci sequence.  A fanciful strand of DNA anchors the lower center.  A glimpse of the night sky at the time and place of the wedding arcs over the text, and a color scheme chosen with paint chips became the palette.  Astronomy, mathematics, genetics, Russian and Belgian art history, color mixing science…  What a ride!
